Valerie Khoo (formerly Gligorov) graduated from Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, The University of Melbourne, Australia, where she was the recipient of the prestigious Melbourne Inaugural Scholarship for the whole duration of her studies in Melbourne (1996-2000). She studied performance under Prof. Ronald Farren-Price, one of Australia’s most respected pianist of all times.
She is the President of the Kuala Lumpur International Masterclass (from 2006-2012), an event that brings in famous music pedagogists, artists, and performers from all around the world to be part of the Masterclass project. Her students have been winners of many International Competitions. Her Malaysian students continue their music education to world renowned music conservatories in US, Australia and Europe,with scholarships.
Valerie works in her private music studio FineMusic throughout the year, and in Europe during the summer , actively working on promoting European culture, landscape and arts to the Asian music students, a subject close to her heart. She adjudicates in many Piano Competitions in China, Taiwan, Austria, Italy, Spain, Singapore and Macao annually. FineMusic has a base of 8-10 key teaching staff who runs the outsource Group Music Programs and classroom music lessons for Montessori Schools, Kindergartens as well as private schools in Kuala Lumpur.
